Disa goes digital with Goldsmiths’ Fair! Posted on July 15, 2020 This Autumn Goldsmiths’ Fair goes digital! Disa has been honoured to have been a regular exhibitor at Goldsmiths’ Fair for the past few years. One of the highlights of the UK Jewellery industry’s calender, Goldsmiths’ Fair has been welcoming collectors of fine jewellery through it’s doors since 1982. This year will see the launch of it’s online platform to support business recovery for sole traders and microbusinesses who are making and creating in the UK today. It has never been a more important time to support our vibrant and creative industry and to promote the skills and techniques, handed down over centuries, of our maker community. Richard Fox, Prime Warden (Chairman-equivalent) of the Goldsmiths’ Company, comments, ”At the Goldsmiths’ Company we are committed to supporting our craft and trade for the long term, as we have done for the last seven centuries through some of the worst crises in our history.” And 2020 is no different as the Goldsmiths’ Company will be representing 130 designer makers based in the UK. Double Cornflower Sapphire Ring Harriet Scott, Head of Events at the Goldsmiths’ Company who curates and manages the Fair, says: “Our exhibitors are a selection of the best fine jewellers and contemporary silversmiths creating and making in the UK today. As well as the stunning 18k gold textural pieces with gemstones and diamonds, we have also been spending time updating the silver work on offer online. This includes some great new textural earrings and rings that Disa has designed with everyday wear in mind. The Open Studio is usually an opportunity to see a huge range of Disa’s work, past and present, and we will be representing this over the coming weeks with the work we add to the Web-shop. Discussing her inspirations, processes and special commissions, it was a really lively conversation where people could put forward their own questions to Disa.
